Stock Jeep TJ (picture thanks to DaimlerChrysler.com)

Who takes a brand new TJ and turns it in to a fire breathing Jeep show piece? We do.  Todd Spitzer of Fort Worth TX brought us his 2003 TJ and asked for the Works.
The 4.0 and NV3550 came right out -- we had better idea.

The TJ was then treated to a Rubicon Express Long Arm Kit, and a 1" body lift to accommodate the Good Year 35X12.50X15 MTRs.
With all of the power we had in store for the TJ it needed some serious axles.  We installed a shaved  609 with 4.10's and a Detroit locker in the front, and a matching 9" rear.

Then it was time for the motor.  A 96 Chevy LT1 was the mill of choice, backed up by a 4L60E automatic transmission.  The transfer case was a NP231 and it was up to the challenge, so we installed a JB conversion's short shaft kit and installed the whole assembly.
The stock dash cluster was way to boring for this project, so a new one was fabricated from aluminum to add another trick detail.

Shorty Lokar shifter, Custom dash, Engine information center, all add to the other wise stock interior, Todd says he has got big plans for the inside of the TJ.
To set off the rear of the Jeep, the LED tail lamps were recessed into the powder coated black corner guards.

Testing the suspension
A good test drive means putting the vehicle through its paces.  As much as we all wanted to wheel Todd's Jeep up some nasty hills, we didn't figure he would appreciate it, so the fork lift had to do.
The finished product, but is a Jeep ever really finished?  Look for more projects coming soon.
